Not sure where the negative reviews come from. It's fishing. Nothing guaranteed. I had a blast catching many grunts, a coral snapper, two triggerfish, three surgeon fish, a remora and a yellowtail. My only complaint was a lack of rod holders. Hard to rebait on a rocking boat. All I can say is that mate Connor and Capt. Tory put us on the fish and were very helpful while doing so.
Boat was very nice but service was less than acceptable. The bathrooms were horrible and the mates attended to one group of people who were at the back of the boat, only chumming for them. We were ignored by the mates.
I recently went on a fishing trip that didn't come close to meeting my expectations. We boarded a two level boat, but when we tried to make use of the second level, the captain informed us that it was off-limits due to Coast Guard regulations. This was disappointing, especially considering the boat was advertised as having two stories. It felt like a missed opportunity, and there was no explanation beyond the vague mention of regulations.
To make matters worse, the fishing experience itself was underwhelming. We paid $125 per person, and there were 20 of us in the group. For the price, I expected much better. Over the course of the trip, we only managed to catch about three fish in total. That's not what I had in mind for a day out on the water.
The area we were taken to fish also felt off. The captain anchored us about 100 feet above the water, using chums to attract fish, but the ideal depth for chumming is closer to 50 feet. That raised some red flags for me—why weren’t we fishing at the proper depth for better results? It left me feeling like the trip was poorly planned.
To top it off, the interaction with the boat crew was a bit strange. I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was some discrimination going on, as it felt like certain groups were treated with less attention and respect. I don’t know if that was intentional, but it definitely left a bad impression.
All in all, this was a disappointing experience, especially given the price. I wouldn't recommend this trip to anyone looking for a fulfilling day of fishing. It just didn't deliver, and I feel like there was a lack of effort in ensuring the trip was worth what we paid.

The boat is in wonderful condition. And the equipment is very good. There is one mate for 23 people and five which our regulars. the five get the back of the boat two Chum bags and all the attention. They are allowed upstairs. They are also allowed to fish when you were told to bring your poles in. The other 18 people are paying the bill. The mate works his butt off. I hope they tip him well.

Sailing under the stars aboard the Captain Michael Partyboat was pure magic. My partner and I had a romantic evening filled with twinkling lights, gentle sea breezes, and the excitement of reeling in some impressive catches. It was a date night unlike any other, and we'll cherish the memories forever.
We had a great day of fishing thanks to Mate Christine and the captain. They were very helpful and made the day relaxing and fun. They even told us how to cook our catch. Our dinner was fantastic! Thank you from the Carolina girls!
We caught fish but the mates who were supposed to be helping us spent more time fishing themselves. They seemed more concerned about catching their own fish than helping us with ours. This was more like their fishing trip

Captain Michaels fishing boat is hands down the best in Islamorada! The crew made us feel welcome when we stepped on board and ensured we had a great time. They were knowledgeable about the area and the fish we caught. The boat was spacious and comfortable, and we even enjoyed a breathtaking sunset. I can't recommend this experience enough for anyone visiting the Florida Keys!
Great time! Tory and Roland are an awesome duo! Had a blast catching fish and catching vibes, Tory took us to some good spots and when the fish stopped biting got us right to the next spot smacking. Best part of the trip so far, highly recommended for anyone looking to go out for eating fish. Lots of yellows and toros, thanks again Tory and Roland for the spectacular trip!
Super awesome concept, boat was great, beautiful location and fun to fish. My biggest complaint was the 4 off duty employees that fished over the top of the chum bag the entire 3 hours and were rude if you tried to fish back there. My girlfriend and I caught 3 fish which was great except the employees caught 15-20 each, and the fish were much bigger. I would give it another try, but I would highly recommend asking if there is going to be any off duty employees on boat before I booked.

I recently went on a charter fishing trip with the Captain Michael Fishing team in Islamorada, Florida and it was an incredible experience. They are true professionals and experts in their field. They were able to take us to the best fishing spots and we caught a variety of different fish. The boat was well-maintained and the equipment was top-notch. They were also very friendly and knowledgeable, making sure we had a great time and answered all of our questions. I would highly recommend Captain Michael to anyone looking for a fun and successful fishing trip in Islamorada.
